Rollan Kirby Green

Rollan Kirby Green, 88, of Marietta, husband of the late Geraldine Ann Carlson Green, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mildred Strubee Green. Christian, charming, witty, friendly, loving, mentor, helper, intelligent, neighborly, gifted, devoted are just a few words to describe the exceptional qualities of Mr. Green. He had the utmost passion for serving the Gap Creek Baptist Church, and although not recognized by him, he was a “big deal” for his countless contributions. For decades, his golden tenor voice blessed the choir and he also served as a church Deacon. He retired from Southern Bell, Jones Gap State Park, and was a 25-year volunteer firefighter at River Falls. Golf was by far his favorite sport. His love for family was pivotal to his well-being. Grandchildren flocked to him for attention—and he loved every minute of it! Watching Judge Judy was a daily highlight to keep him laughing. He was a true friend of the entire community; “love thy neighbor” was the only direction he walked. We love and praise him for all he has done on this earth. Thank you, Lord! He is survived by his son: Kirby Green (Sandra); two daughters: Diane Ennamorato (Tony), and Johanna Young (Larry); 8 grandchildren: Andrew Cantrell, Erica Cantrell, Nicole Graham (Robin), Tracey Ennamorato, Ashley McDaniel, R. Bradley McDaniel, Jason Young, and Kristie Young; 7 great-grandchildren: Issac Cantrell, Ckyleigh Cantrell, Lio Graham, Waverly Graham, Tyler McDaniel, Gavin Rogers, and Jase Young Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister: Dolly Miller A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, from 11:15 a.m. until 12:15 a.m. at Gap Creek Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation in the church beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
