Don Lesslie Fowler

Don Lesslie Fowler, of Greer, SC, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at his home. Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, a son of the late Elijah Emmanuel Fowler and Rosie Elizabeth Williams Fowler, Don lived a full and meaningful life of 71 years defined by an unyielding work ethic and athletic devotion. In his youth, he attended Parker High School, where his natural talent and competitive spirit shone brightly. An exceptionally gifted athlete, he poured his energy into football and baseball—though truth be told, he was drawn to any sport he could play. That passion for competition followed him throughout his entire life, most notably as an avid, lifelong fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks. Win or lose, Saturdays were reserved for Garnet and Black, and his allegiance to Carolina never wavered. For many years, he applied his strong character and endurance to his career in the insulation business as a dedicated installer. Above all his life’s achievements and passions, the defining cornerstone of his journey occurred on August 16, 2025. On that day, he was saved and baptized, committing his heart and soul to Jesus Christ at Everlasting Covenant Church in Greenville. This milestone brought him profound peace, grace, and renewed purpose, leaving a lasting testament of faith that will forever comfort and inspire those he leaves behind. Don is survived by his children, Nick Fowler (Melissa), Donnie Fowler (Amanda) and Penny Fowler; six grandchildren, Mariah Fowler, Damian Fowler, Carter Fowler, Tiffany Koon, Chloe White and Cody White; two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Callan Koon; twin-brother, Johnny Fowler and brother, David Fowler (Linda); and his two cats, who kept him company. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Gaylene Elizabeth Fowler and two brothers, Roger and Charles Fowler. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary in Travelers Rest.
