Mark Steven Dill

Mark Steven Dill, 55, of Travelers Rest passed away unexpectedly March 9, 2021. Born January 14,1966 in Greer,SC, he was the son of Theron Steven DIll and Martha Rainey Brown. Mark attended Travelers Rest High School and went on to North Greenville University. Mark started his professional career as a volunteer for the Piedmont Park Fire Department where he was soon hired and worked his way up to the rank of Captain. While working at PPFD, he was an instructor for the SC Fire Academy and a board member of the SC State Fire Marshall Association. Mark retired in 2010 and started his own business Priority One Fire Safety, where he was able to continue his passion for educating and protecting the community he loved. Mark enjoyed, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and discovering new people and places. In recent years, he started researching his ancestry where he discovered he was eligible to join the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Mark will always be remembered for his love of fishing, his wonderful sense of humor and his fascination of Bigfoot. In 1995, Mark married the love of his life and best friend Kimberly. In 2019, they traveled to Paris, France, a dream he had ever since they met. In 2020, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Surviving in addition to his parents are, his wife, Kimberly Anne Goss Dill; three sons: Joshua Seth Dill, (Dennielle), Joshua Steven Dill (Brittany), and Caleb Dill (Fiancée Emma Newell); daughter: Hannah Dill; three brothers: Robert Sweet, Matthew Knight (Caroline), T.J. Dill; father and mother-in-law Rick and Marlene Snyder; brothers-in-law: James Goss (Corinne), Joshua Stein (Brenda) and Chase Snyder; and seven grandchildren: Layla, Delilah, Eli, Nehemiah, Maverick, Atlas, and Remy. He will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel.
