Nancy Bentley Sutherland Edgar

Early Sunday morning December 21, 2025, at Prisma Hospital Nancy grew her wings and flew to the arms of Jesus. The last week of her life was a struggle, but she continued to Praise God and Thank Him during her suffering. Her love for the Lord was always in her smile where ever she went. Her walk with the Lord started at an early age and she never wavered. She had a green thumb for any plant she came across. She learned to turn bowls late in life and made spoons, plates, dippers and measuring spoons. She worked diligently every year to get ready for the Pumpkin Festival. She and Chester made sure their containers were full so everyone could have their choice of treasures each year. Soon, Chester would go to heaven, but she continued her bowl turning, memory Bear making and flower arrangements. She and Rick met at a church singing, then they too would travel to different places to sing and enjoy the Lord. Nancy loved learning to play different stringed instruments. Rick was always a great teacher and helped Nancy be able to play the bass at church. Her joy always showed on her face with each note she would strum. She was a loyal member of Jones Hill Church of God where she taught the Ladies Class for many years; she sang in the choir then began to play her bass guitar. She would decorate the sanctuary and fellowship hall each year for Christmas, and she was head of the Benevolence Committee for many years. She leaves behind the love of her life her son Ben Sutherland(Krista); her two grandchildren, Kayse Robinson (Andy) of Dacusville and Gray Sutherland of Marietta; two great grandchildren, Presley and Cash Robinson; two sisters, Martha Durham and Barbara Riggins; two special nieces Jan Weast and Jeanette Caldwell along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. In addition to her mom and dad, BF and Annie Lee Bentley she was predeceased by her two husbands, Chester Sutherland and Rick Edgar and her brother, Jimmy Bentley. The family will receive friends from 11am until 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Howze Mortuary. Then at 2pm on Saturday the 27th there will be a Memorial Service at Jones Hill Church of God. Memorials may be made to Jones Hill Church of God, 1014 Dalton Road, Marietta SC 29661.
