Ruth Mueller Kickasola

Ruth Georgine (Mueller) Kickasola, 87, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, March 9, 2023, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Mueller and Helen Wainwright Mueller. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family. She was a member of Forestville Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Raymond Kickasola; 4 sons: Raymond F. Kickasola (Bonnie) of Cleveland, SC, Ross Kickasola (Ana) of Miami, FL, Gregory Kickasola (Michelle) of Miami, FL, and Gabriel Kickasola (Ana Lucia) of Greer, SC; sisters: Susan (Jerry) Groover of Millville, NJ, and Diane (Theodore) Prohowich of Port Elizabeth, NJ; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Ruth was predeceased by 2 daughters: Valerie Kickasola and Shirley Kickasola and a grandson, Aaron Kickasola. Ruth and Ray married in April of 1956, and shortly after began building their life in Miami, FL A short year later Ruth gave birth to their first born, Raymond. She lived every day to serve Jesus and raise her family. From serving in Sunday School to volunteering for PTA, her world revolved around being the best mother and wife she could be. Ruth’s time in Miami came to a close in 1997 when her, Ray, and their youngest son, Gabriel moved to Cleveland, SC to be with their first grandchildren. They found a church home in Forestville Baptist church where they spent the next 26 years. Her family remembers her most by her wit, humor, and her daily crossword puzzles. There wasn’t a day she didn’t start in prayer and with her favorite hymn, or a night she didn’t sit down to show her wits with a daily game of Jeopardy. Her laugh was contagious, and her spirits were always high. There wasn’t anyone she didn’t leave better than when she found them. She was a bright light in every sense of the word. Visitation for Ruth will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 15th, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Forestville Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation in the church sanctuary at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
