Sherri Barfield Rogers

Sherri Lynn Barfield Rogers, 56, of Greenville, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024. Born in Washington, DC; she was the daughter of Wayne Barfield and the late Betty Jean Rushing Barfield of Americus, GA. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 32 years: Kenny Rogers; three sons: Nathan Rogers (Amber), Ben Rogers (Joy), and Andrew Rogers; five grandchildren: Chazz, Pazlie, Myles, Olivia, and Melody; her father: Wayne Barfield (Deborah); two brothers: Darin Barfield (Leann), and Jeff Barfield (Teresa); and a number of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a 1986 Graduate of Americus High School and later in life she went back to school where she earned her surgical technology certificate from Albany Technical College. To know Sherri was to love her! She was always a ray of sunshine and had the most beautiful smile and was a true joy to be around. She loved her family with her whole heart and enjoyed being Momma to her sons and a Maw-Maw to her grandbabies. She loved being in church and worshipping the Lord! April 18, 2018, was the day she was “Born Again”. She had a heart for souls and a desire to please the Lord. She enjoyed singing in the choir at her home church, Bethany Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC. She was a member of the “Caleb” Sunday school class. She also enjoyed “singing in sign language” for the deaf and played the piano! Her life was centered around the Word of God. She loved reading and studying the Bible. She was a Proverbs 31 Lady. She is already greatly missed by her family! In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Charles Barfield, Grandparents, Wonzie & Hortense Barfield, and Charles & Lorena Rushing, all of Americus, GA. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, April 25th, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Aldridge Funeral Home in Americus, GA. 612 Rees St. Americus, GA 31709 The Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday afternoon, April 27th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Bethany Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 30 Bethany Rd. Travelers Rest, SC 29690 Her body will lie in state at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Serving as pallbearers are Nathan Rogers, Benjamen Rogers, Andrew Rogers, Jason Rogers, Lee Rogers, and Luke Randolph. Honorary pallbearers are Chazz Barfield & Seth Chism. Pastor Jeremy Chism, and Pastor Kelly Runels will be officiating the service.
