Thomas Jesse Pritchett

We celebrate the life of Thomas Jesse Pritchett who was born on June 7, 1937 and died peacefully on Jan 25, 2025 with his family celebrating him toward his heavenly home. He was the son of the late Jesse Jay and Cora Lee Pritchett; Husband of Janet Nesbitt Pritchett; Father of Denise Pritchett Mason (Larry), Joel Pritchett (Marie), Gregory Pritchett (deceased) and special son Chris Schuch. Grandfather to Josh Pritchett (deceased), Alexis Pritchett Norris (Tyler) and Ali Pritchett Kent (Calton) Bonus Grands Savannah Skidmore and Luke Skidmore. Great Grandfather to Sutton Norris, Sawyer Norris, Brody Kent, Andie Kate Kent and Baby Kent (due Aug 2025) And brother to Betty Quinn (deceased), Ann Eppes, Jack Pritchett (deceased), Shirley Harper (deceased), Kathy Peterson, Barbara Scruggs and Theresa Waddell (deceased). Thomas retired from Judson Mills where he worked for over 47 years. He was Chairman of Deacons and Sunday School Superintendent for many years at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He loved playing softball for the textile and church leagues, playing until he was 64. He loved his garden, his family and his friends, but if you ever met Thomas, you knew the Love of his life was Janet. He loved her for 67 years and their love and marriage was a Godly testimony for all those who knew them. Committed was a word to describe Thomas. Committed to his family, his church and most of all committed to Janet. He fought so hard to stay strong for her because he said he promised he would take care of her. His wedding vows were not mere words, they were a commitment to GOD and to Janet. He lived them well, loved her well and went into heaven with his arms reaching for Jesus while we are sure, wanting to reach back for her hand. Thomas was a fiercely Proud and Loving Father, Husband, Papa, brother, uncle and friend. His heart was full and he was happiest when their home was full too. He loved his kids and grandkids and never missed a ballgame, So we hope there’s a baseball/softball diamond, beautiful Carolina mountains and lush gardens full of massive tomatoes in heaven. We cannot imagine what he got to see when he reached heaven’s gates but we KNOW where he is, and what God had to say to him when HE welcomed him home ….Thomas you did well my good and faithful servant. The family will receive friends at The Howze Mortuary on Thursday, January 30, 2025, beginning at 09:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in The Howze Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dean Patton officiating the service with Rev. Larry Mason giving the eulogy. Special music provided by Amy Dockins and Renee McCarson.
