Annabelle Moore Willis Shelnutt

April 10, 1935 - May 7, 2021

Annabelle Moore Willis Shelnutt, 86, of Travelers Rest, passed away, Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Francis Downtown. Born in Transylvania County, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Emmett and Alma Broome Moore. Mrs. Shelnutt retired from the Slater Plant, and was a member of Slater Church of God. She taught Sunday School and Children’s Church for many years. Mrs. Shelnutt was an artist, a song writer, and loved to play the piano and sing. She loved playing games and spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband: Joseph Marshall Shelnutt, two daughters: Kathy Barrett and Sharon Smith; one son: Rev. David Tony Willis (Kathy); six grandchildren: Krystal Barrett (Jacob), Bobby Justin Smith, Stephanie Berry (Glen), Kyndal Smith, Jonathan Willis (Sarah), and Austin Barrett (Taylor); nine great-grandchildren: Malaki Barrett, Jayden Berry, Aria Fletcher, Ashlynn Berry, Eliana Willis, Miriam Willis, Clayton Barrett, Analynn Berry, and Gunner Bailey; and four sisters: Betty Bowers (Jack), Doris Taliento, Linda Kilpatrick (Kelvin), and Rita Scruggs. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband: Jack Willis; one brother: David Moore; and one sister: Marilyn Dunnigan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Slater Church of God. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Slater Church of God. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes.
