Betty Jo Chavis Anders, 68, of Six Mile, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 31, 2021, after her valiant battle with cancer. Her belief in God carried her through and ultimately granted her peace. She will be greatly missed by all those that loved her, but they have great comfort in knowing that she is at rest in the arms of Savior. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Avery Anders. Born in Barnwell County, SC, she was a daughter of the late William and Marie Roland Chavis. Mrs. Anders owned several check cashing stores and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Matthew Chavis (Paula) and Johnny Williams (Diane); one daughter: Cathy Oliver; four step-daughters: Donna Petersen (Jim), Shannon Mann (Adam), Alanna Alexander (Steven), and Kerry Wimpey (Chris); two brothers: Frank Chavis and David Chavis; two sisters: Delma Sanders and Carolina Hutson; and many grandchildren. Along with her parents she was predeceased by four siblings. There will not be a formal visitation, but anyone wishing to sign the register book and pay their respects, may do so Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley, with Dr. David Gallamore officiating. The graveside service will be Live-Streamed at www.facebook.com/thehowzemortuary, beginning at 1:55 p.m. It is requested that those in attendance wear a mask, and maintain social distancing. A celebration of life will occur at a later date when COVID restrictions allow. The family will be at their respective homes.
