Caroll Lynn Russell

December 18, 1948 - February 1, 2022

Caroll Lynn Russell (Boehm), 73, entered into heaven February 1, 2022 at Spring Park Assisted Living. She is the daughter of Harry and June Boehm who predeceased her. Caroll was born in Louisville, Kentucky where she resided most of her life. Caroll retired from Civil Service at Fort Knox, KY in 2011 after serving 33 years. She also served as an administrator at 1st Lutheran Church in Louisville, KY until May of this past year. Her love of God, music and family was paramount. Caroll is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly Anne Russell, Shannon Marie Young, Kathleen Gale Spangler and her husband Brian, her six grandchildren, Christopher Moir, AJ Moir, Max McGuire, Connor Russell and his fiancé, Nicole LeBlanc, Mary Spangler and Jenna Spangler and her sister Alice Alvey. She was an organist for 56 years and started at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shively, KY when she was just 14 years old. She was a member, organist, and Choir Director of St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years. Caroll was also heavily involved within her community and held many offices in Church Women United, was in the Federation of Woman’s Club, and President of Shively Woman’s Club for a total of eight years. The daughters of Caroll L. Russell invite you to celebrate her life at a memorial service. The service will be held on Friday, 4 February at 4:00pm at Howze Mortuary, 6714 State Park Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690. In lieu of flowers, Caroll would be pleased for donations to Kentucky Dare to Care, your local Animal Shelter or the Gary Sinise Foundation in Caroll’s honor.
