Jacquelin Lawson Lyda

July 19, 1944 - February 7, 2022

Jacquelin Elizabeth (Lawson) Lyda, 77, wife of James Vernon Lyda, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, February 7, 2022, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Honea Path, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joe Bailey Lawson and Evelyn Lee Lawson. Jackie, as she was affectionately known, was the supervisor of housekeeping at the former Phoenix Inn in Greenville and was a member of Cox Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving to cherish her memory along with her husband are her daughters: Eva Christine “Chris” Seay (Lucky) and Denise Hudgins; son: Carl Ray (Diane) Hudgins; sisters: Betty Hardin and Gloria Riggs and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Jackie was predeceased by 2 sons: Nathan Hudgins and Bobby Hudgins; sisters: Louise Sudduth and Marie Belcher and a stepson: Jeff Lyda. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. at Cox Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation in the church sanctuary at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
