Mae Worley Wright, 98, of Marion, NC, wife of the late Fred R. Wright, died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the home of her daughter in Easley, SC. Born in Madison County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sylvanie Buckner Worley. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Marion, NC. She is survived by her daughter: Linda Lednum and her husband Ben of Easley, SC; son: Glenn Wright and his wife Edna of Young Harris, GA; grandchildren: Kelly Wright Edmundson and her husband Daniel, Kevin Wright, Kim Lednum Hollifield and her husband Travis; and 4 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was predeceased by 7 siblings. A service in celebration of her homegoing will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11:00am at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Walker, Rev. Victor Worley, and Mr. Paul Baker officiating. The body will be in the church at 10:00am for anyone that would like to come sign the guest register before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1788, Marion, NC 28752.
