Mary Nell Murr Buchanan Dunn

Mary Nell Murr Buchanan Dunn, 84, went to Heaven on 12/25/2021 peacefully at the home of her beloved sister Linda Galloway, who took such loving care of her the last few years of her life. She was a humble soul who loved unconditionally throughout her lifetime. Everything that she did was for others. During her life, she opened her home to so many children through the foster care system. She loved each one of them and always showed the love of Jesus during their time with her. She was a member of Slater Church of God and retired after many years of service from the JP Stevens Slater plant. She was the daughter of the late Robert(Speed) and Stella Styles Murr and the widow of her first husband, Carl Buchanan and her second husband, James “Mutt” Dunn. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Stephenson, a daughter Teresa Williams, and a son, Richard Williams. She lovingly raised sons: Pete Odom(Diane), John Paxton(Jan), Phillip Williams, James Buchanan(Angela); daughters: Pat Bass, Phyllis Benjamin(Jim), Mary Tibbetts(Dennis); and had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren that she adored and loved unconditionally with her whole heart. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 5pm until 7pm at The Howze Mortuary. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 1pm at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her son: James Buchanan; grandchildren: Michael Bonham, Seth Paxton, Jill Paxton; and great- grandchildren: Corey Bonham, Franklin Morton, and Victoria Hayden. The family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Susan Bonham. The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice for all the care they provided, especially Tafoya and Casey.
