Mary Willis Sammons

March 31, 1939 - March 25, 2022

Mary Louise (Willis) Sammons, 82, wife of the late John William Sammons of 61 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, March 25, 2022, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville, SC, (Union Bleachery), she was the daughter of the late Henry Ingram Willis and Louise Stroud Willis. Mary retired from Woodlawn Memorial Park where she was a Family Services Counselor and later worked with her daughter at her dance studio and was a member of Lee Road Baptist Church in Taylors. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children: Rick Sammons, Greg Sammons and wife Donna, Tim Sammons all of Taylors and Lisa Sammons Fowler and husband Brian of Greer; sister: Frances Jones of Charlotte, NC; brother: Ingram Willis and wife Pam of Tryon, NC, and sister: Ernestine Willis of the United States; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Mary was predeceased by a daughter: Teresa Sammons and a sister: Lena Smerdon. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 1:00 until 1:50 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary. Funeral service will follow the visitation in The Howze Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with burial following the service at Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest.
