Ted Brady Your eyes caught a glimpse of the Eastern Gate and nothing on Earth was enough to make you stay! A strong kind heart stopped beating, as you ran into the arms of Jesus! No doubt you heard “Well done my good and faithful servant, welcome to heaven!” You lived your life to minister to others and be used by the Lord. No matter what you faced in life, you always took the time to share the hope that only comes from a relationship with Jesus. Right now you’re at the feet of Jesus, worshipping and praising! You are Home… you’ve been Carried Away… and I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy is a reality for you! Born in Moore County, NC, on July 19, 1959, Ted was the first born and only son of his parents, TR Brady and Betty Conner. An answer to his parent’s prayers, he played his first song on the piano at just 12 years old. A few weeks later, Ted was playing piano for his father’s church congregation. By age 15 he was playing piano for his first southern gospel group. Music and ministry was just part of Ted’s DNA. His ear for harmonies and blending vocals were one of a kind. He enjoyed working with other ministries in his recording studio, His Way Studios. Ted and his wife Jen traveled in full time ministry as The Bradys. God allowed them to witness over 60 salvations in 2019 and 25 so far in 2020 and countless healings, miracles and changed lives. Material possessions and finances did not matter to Ted, as long as he could sing and minister and lay down at night knowing God had used him, he was totally content. May 2020 brought a new ministry direction to The Bradys as they accepted the position as Worship Pastors at Destination Church of God in Taylors, SC. The last time Ted stepped on a platform to minister was at Destination on September 6, 2020. An amazing Daddy, he was a superhero to his son, Kevin. Kevin believed that his Daddy could do anything… fix anything… no matter the situation… just ask his Dad! Makaylla, his “KK” was his sunshine and Daddy’s girl! She shared his love of sports cars, Mustangs, and all things fast! Just a few weeks ago, she called with the news that he would be a Grandpa and the smile and excitement was contagious! Youngest daughter, Madison, his “Mamie Jo” shared his love for fishing, trucks, being outside and singing. Madison travels and sings and shares the love of Jesus just like her Dad. When Ted married his best friend, soul mate and ministry partner, Jen, on August 31, 2018, Ted became “BONUS” Dad to five more kids! Javon, Savannah, Michael, Art and Larry. Ted’s love for children was evident as he always made time each week to speak to every child in the church. He just loved kids… because he was a kid at heart! Ted had a way with words and the testimonies that have been shared of how God used Ted to draw people to the Lord are too many to count. His prayer was to be used by God, and there’s no doubt God answered that prayer time and again. I can only imagine the numbers lined to welcome Ted home, each one with a testimony of how Ted’s life and ministry led them to Jesus. In addition to his wife and children, Ted is survived by his Mother, Betty Conner, his Father TR (Judy Cannon) Brady, sisters Sue Ford and Judy Ann Hardin, and his little brother Jon (Jennifer) Brady. Ted was blessed with the friendship of David Richards over the past few years. David traveled with The Bradys and was always available to help and support Ted in any way he could. David was with Ted as he made his journey home. God blessed Ted with a little princess who he loved and adored. Princess Scottlyn would hide and say, “Teddy Cheeseburger come find me!” And he always did. She would giggle and say, “That’s my Teddy Cheeseburger!” Oh the joy his little bubbly princess brought to his life! So many friends that are more like family that has traveled and been a part of ministry in some way: Scott & Angie Phillips, David & Sammy Richards, Dave & Stephanie Hager, Joe & Mary Painter, Duane Slate, John Lanier, Chad Bonds, Jordan Slate, Sharmen Pressley, Travis Hanley, Jill Darnell… so many individuals that touched Ted’s life. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2 pm at Destination Church of God in Taylors, SC. The family asks that all who wish to attend and celebrate Ted’s life wear a mask. COVID took Ted from us and we would never want anyone else to feel our pain due to this horrible virus. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Bradys (Jennifer Brady), PO Box 482, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
