Anna Synodinos

Anna Kopsiafti Sinodinos, 95, wife of the late Konstantinos Georgios Sinodinos passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Anna was born on April 11, 1926 in Karyae (Arahova) Lakonia, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Christos and Marigo (Haraka) Kopsiafti. At the age of 15, Anna moved to Tripoli to work with her Uncle Gus Harakas as a seamstress and under his guidance she became a very successful seamstress and loved to sew for family and friends. On February 20, 1955 she married Konstantinos Sinodinos from Theologos, Lakonias and they had two daughters, Haido and Georgia. On May 7, 1967 Konstantinos, Anna and their daughters immigrated to Charlotte, NC, Anna was employed by Ivey's and Tate Brown as a seamstress until her retirement in 2005. Anna was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Charlotte, NC, a member of Agia Elpis Ladies Philoptochos Society, Ladies of Karyae Society, and worked at the Charlotte Yiassou Greek Festival making loukoumades!! There was a lot of love in our mom's life. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, and mentor who inspired and touched everyone who knew her. I know that her legacy will live on in all of us. She was a fantastic cook and baker, and loved to make her delicious loukoumades for all of us to enjoy, she also enjoyed gardening, reading, cross-stitching, and crocheting which she was doing up to the last days of her life. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren and her young great grandson Eli, and her favorite granddog Luna!! Beside her husband and her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her 9 siblings, Panos, Eleni, Eftihia, Vasiliki, Paraskevi, Eleni, Sotiros, Nick, and George. Anna is survived by her daughters Haido Pourlos and her husband Steve, of Greenville, SC, Georgia Pistolis and her husband Tom of Greenville, SC, her granddaughters Christianna Pistolis and fiancee Evan Poulias of Seattle, Washington, Candace Pistolis of Charlotte, NC, her grandson, Chris Pourlos of Greenville, SC, great grandson Eli Pourlos of Greenville, SC, sisters in law, Tasia Sinodinou of Sparta, Greece, Anthoula Copsis and Haido Copsis of Charlotte, NC, and many beloved nephews, nieces and godchildren. A visitation will take place on Monday, May 10 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed at https://vimeo.com/event/165729/457c79a80e. Masks and Social Distancing will be enforced at all times. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. We would like to thank the staff of Open Arms Hospice for taking care of our mom the last two weeks of her life and for their wonderful support and comfort to us.
