TINA HOLMES CHRISTY GREENVILLE, SC Tina Holmes Christy, of Greenville, S.C., wife of Captain Bradley Christy of the U.S. Army Reserve, loving mother of five beautiful girls: Alex Holmes, Katelyn Holmes, Bradyn Christy, Caroline Christy and Hannah Christy, went home to be with the Lord, Monday June 14, 2010 as a result of a car accident in Louisville, KY. Other survivors include her parents: Dick and Peggy Souder of Travelers Rest; a sister: Deborah Steading and a niece: Courtney Steading both of Columbia; Aunts: Linda McCann and Donna Everett of Travelers Rest, Tracey Trevathan of Suffolk Virginia and her Grandmother, Ruth Trevatham of Oakmont West Nursing Center in Greenville. Tina was born on January 26, 1971 at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk Virginia. She was 39 years old. After graduating from high school she began her family life and while raising five children she obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. Her former employer was Greenville Hospital System. She was an Independent Baptist who loved the Lord and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Taylors SC. Tina was most happy spending time traveling with her husband and children. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, entertaining and spending as much time as possible with her children, husband and family members. Tina was always quick to help her friends and family whenever they were in need. She will be remembered as a loyal friend, family member and a loving wife and mother. The family will receive friends at The Howze Mortuary, 6714 State Park Road, Travelers Rest from 7-8:30 pm, Friday June 18th. A Celebration of her life will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 500 East Lee Rd., Taylors at 11 am on Saturday June 19th. Officiating the service will be Dr. John Monroe of Faith Baptist Church and Rev. Sammy Kay Jr. of Truth Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Travelers Rest. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of South Carolina, which she was a strong supporter of as one of her children has juvenile diabetes. The family will be at 5008 Maplewood Drive in Greenville immediately following the service.
